From its launch in 1996, WKD has risen to become a leading force in the RTD sector and is currently No.1 in Northern Ireland.

1996 – WKD Original Vodka Iron Brew launched in Liverpool and Manchester , after which it steadily infiltrated other regions

2001 – WKD Original Vodka Blue launched, accelerating growth in London and the South to make WKD a national brand

2002 – WKD Original Vodka Silver launched

Changed to 5.0% ABV October 2003

Sold in a unique long-neck 275ml embossed bottle, in 70cl bottles, multipacks and Party Pack format (Keg)

Right from the launch of WKD we have made extensive use of PR to support the brand and it’s still an important element in the marketing mix for WKD

1999 saw the introduction of WKD on 48-sheet posters with the ‘buzzing’ campaign

2000 – the introduction of the ‘Have you got a WKD side?’ theme on posters

2001 – WKD first on TV

Now – WKD has a strong brand presence and is also strongly supported in the trade through innovative field marketing
